Dental Implants

Diagram of dental implant with postAt Advanced Center for Oral Surgery, Facial Surgery and Dental Implants we offer several implant-related treatments to replace one or more missing teeth. We specialize in implant treatment because we believe that dental implants are the ideal solution for tooth loss.

What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a titanium screw that we surgically embed deep into the jawbone. Once the implant is in place, it will slowly fuse to your jaw through the process of osseointegration. After a brief healing period, the implant screw will be able to support a restoration against the strongest forces of your bite. Dental implants can be used to support a single crown, a partial bridge, and a full-arch restoration.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Dental implants are the next best thing to your natural teeth. This makes implants a more convenient, durable, secure, and aesthetically pleasing option over traditional restorations. The numerous benefits of dental implants have made them the industry standard for tooth replacement!

Implant-Supported Denture

An implant-supported denture is similar to All-on-4 but usually requires more implants. We may recommend an implant-supported denture if you want a better alternative to traditional dentures. A traditional denture is a removable appliance that rests on the gums. Because it is not secured by implants, many patients experience difficulty eating, discomfort, and even embarrassing slips.

Who Is a Candidate?

If you are in good oral and overall health, you should qualify for implant treatment. If you have experienced significant bone deterioration due to tooth loss, you may need a bone graft first. During your consultation, Our specialists will be able to determine if implants are right for you. This usually involves a series of diagnostic tests that may include digital x-rays and CBCT scans.

Dental Implant FAQ

We believe patient education is the cornerstone of good oral health. During your initial appointment, Our specialists will be happy to answer any questions you have regarding dental implants. This is also an excellent opportunity for you to voice any concerns. Staying informed can help you better maintain your restoration and prevent potential problems.

Ridge Augmentation

Many patients need a bone graft, or ridge augmentation before implantation is possible. Osseointegration, the process responsible for the many benefits of dental implants, requires an adequate amount of bone in the jaw. If osseointegration does not occur, implant failure is virtually guaranteed. Fortunately, we offer ridge augmentation to improve the quantity and quality of deteriorated bone. In many ways, ride augmentation allows patients to receive dental implants when it would otherwise be impossible.

Bone Grafting

Successful implant treatment requires a sufficient amount of bone in the jaw. We may recommend a bone graft if your bone is too thin or too soft to support an implant. A graft can help restore deteriorated bone, and give you a second chance at implant treatment!

Zygomatic Implants

Zygomatic or zygoma implants allow for dental implant reconstruction in cases where there is little to no bone in the upper jaw. In the past, these cases would have required grafting with delayed implant placement. This means multiple surgeries and a prolonged treatment time as well as usually having to wear an uncomfortable denture during healing. Zygoma implants are longer than typical dental implants and anchor into the cheek bone for high stability, providing the ability to place functional, implant supported teeth on the very same day in most cases.

All on 4/Teeth in a day

Tooth loss, gum and bone disease affect millions of people worldwide, on every continent, in every age group. Globally, several hundred million people are thought to be missing one or more teeth. More than 40 million people are estimated to be fully edentulous in the Western world alone. Complete tooth loss is a much more widespread handicap than most of us realize. Major barriers for solving the problem are the perceived complexity, stagnant technology and high cost of treatment. With innovative new solutions this no longer needs to be the case. The procedure maximizes the use of available bone to allow for the placement of dental implants and a new, functional set of teeth on the same day.
